The Jonathan Babineaux Case -- Part 2

March 8, 2007, Police Statement:

"The necropsy results have returned.  The results are inconsistent with the statements made by Babineoux as to what happened to the dog Kilo.

"Because of the seriousness of the charges and pending prosecution, no further information will be released on the necropsy results."

This is in reference to my previous post:

According to statements made to police, NFL lineman Jonathan Babineaux had an argument with his girlfriend before she left to go to the movies.

He calls her later to say that she needed to come get her dog, Kilo. When she got home, Kilo was in "severe physical distress," and she took him to the vet immediately.

While in route to the hospital, Kilo began to vomit blood and was soon pronounced deceased.

Babineaux volunteered to drive to the hospital to meet with the police. According to the police, he said was not responsible for the animals' death. But they also said Babineaux's accounts of what happened were inconsistent with information from the animal hospital. Preliminary information indicates Kilo died as a result of "massive blunt force trauma to the head."

A felony arrest warrant for Cruelty to Animals was obtained, and
Babineaux was taken into custody. Felony Cruelty to Animals carries a sentence of 1 to 5 years and/or a fine not to exceed $15,000, accordign to police.
